What moves me

Life’s short, so live big!

That’s my motto in life — both professionally and personally. It’s about getting things done — tackling challenges and issues to optimize results by using strategy and creativity.

Here is a recent special event.

We celebrate a major transportation milestone — widening the northbound lanes of the Orange Freeway (SR-57) and getting thousands of Southern Californians back to work.

Here is a music slideshow featuring the kickoff ceremony of the 57 freeway decked out with the 50s theme with labor joining elected officials and Lucy Dunn, CEO and president of the Orange County Business Council.

So what else drives me? Check out my interview following the national Gov 2.5 Conference in Washington, D.C. that brought together social media gurus and journalists from the Washington Post and USA Today.

My love of utilizing social media to enhance citizen engagement and public participation

Here are some upcoming special events, conferences and other activities I’ll be participating in:

I will be hosting and speaking at the ConnectOC event Sept. 9 at the Hilton Orange County / Costa Mesa.

The free social media networking event will be the largest of its kind in Southern California and will bring together approximately 500 professionals in companies, government agencies, networking groups and nonprofits. For details, go to ConnectOC’s Facebook page.

I will be moderating a panel on social media at the Oct. 29 Southern California Transportation Summit sponsored by Mobility 21 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. For more information, go to Mobility 21’s website.

I am speaking on harnessing the power of social media at the 21st annual Focus on the Future conference Nov. 14 to Nov. 16 in La Quinta, Calif. The conference is sponsored by the Self-Help Counties Coalition.
