Diving deeper into social media

It’s been nearly six months since social media extraordinaire Rochelle Veturis and I joined forces to present a half-day workshop filled with personalized hands-on training called “Dive into Social Media.”

The participants of mostly public relations, marketing and advertising executives gave us rave reviews and told us they wanted more.

During this exciting time of our lives, Rochelle got married. I’m still getting used to the addition of “Coles” to her name. She’s also been busily providing keynotes and coaching to business executives and sharing her expertise with entrepreneurs and nonprofits.

I too have been equally running a sprint with dozens of keynotes and panel discussions to regional and national audiences. I even got to interview M.C. Hammer with the L.A. media and Access Hollywood last month in Los Angeles.

And the other big news is having my social media and blogging work featured in two books — “The Big Book of Social Media — Case Studies, Stories and Perspectives” edited by Bob Fine of Washington, D.C.  with a special forward by Sam Feist, CNN’s poltical director, and “The Power of Real-Time Social Media Marketing” by UCLA faculty member Beverly Macy and entertainment publicist Teri Thompson.

Even with our busy schedules, we stayed connected via social media and united our efforts during the horrible incidences of online bullying and participated on a discussion on how the community can prevent this form cyber attacks among our youths.

During this time, we’ve seen the world change before our very eyes thanks to social media. Tunisia and Egypt used social networks to mobilize and peacefully demonstrated to oust their long-time despots.

“The Social Network” won the Golden Globe awards and was a top contender for the Academy Awards. And Charlie Sheen set a world record of getting more than one million followers on Twitter in less than 24 hours.

With all of these advances, Rochelle and I have continued to keep ahead of the technology curve and are excited to share with you our special program that captures the latest social media trends and catapults these tools for you, helping you achieve immediate results.

Join us for “Diving Deeper into Social Media” 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, April 8. We’re thrilled to give participants personalized training, so you can get to the next level of social media engagement.

See this digital flier for details. And be sure to reserve your space because of the limited space to allow for optimal hands-on experience.

Oooh, this will be a fabulous event for sure! I am tempted to fly there from Nashville just to hear two of my favorite Social Media experts in person. I know a lot of people will walk away with a plan that will make them richer within weeks.

This will be an incredible workshop Rochelle and Ted!! I know the attendee’s will learn so much from the two of you because you have set yourselves apart as leaders in this field! In other words, you walk the talk! While I can’t be in attendance, I value the opportunity I have to learn from you every day! Showing myself and others how to not use social media, but how to utilize the opportunities to connect and collaborate with others! This will be an incredible workshop!

I’ve had the pleasure of benefiting from both Ted and Rochelle’s social media efforts, and am excited for the attendees at their next workshop!

When I was helping direct ConnectOC – a charity-based networking event in Southern California – Ted helped me leverage social media to put together a massive event where we connected all government officials, business owners, the media, professionals, and nonprofits together in Orange County to stimulate the local economy and donate to charity. We had 500+ attendees, raised thousands for local children-oriented charities, and allowed our residences to make meaningful connections. I couldn’t have done this without Ted and Social Media. So he’s got some great stories to share!

I met Rochelle at one of her PR networking events, and she shared valuable tips to social media users on how to focus efforts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others mediums to produce ROI in these hard-to-measure marketing/connecting/customer platforms. Despite having a ton of followers, she’s somehow had the amazing ability to engage her followers, share value-packed messages, and be a wonderful person throughout her efforts. Kudos!

    Have a great event, Guys!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind words Gina, J, John and Paul. You are four wonderful people who, had online social networks never been created I would have never met. I cannot imagine it – thank you, once again, for your support and friendship in the socialmediasphere and IRL :)
