Digital media stars help power forward nation’s fastest-growing group

The nation’s digital media titans gathered in downtown Los Angeles for the largest gathering of Asian American Pacific Islanders to explore the vast opportunities for America’s fastest-growing group.

KTLA 5 news anchor Frank Buckley leads a panel on YouTube video stars David Choi of David Choi Music, Clara Chung of Clara C Music and Stephen Dypiangco of National Film Society.

I participated in covering the inaugural V3 Digital Media Conference — named for vision, voice and visibility — and in leading a panel on making money from business blogging.

Bloggers, social media professionals, TV journalists and others wanting to gain insights into how to tap into the dynamic digital media world gathered to help each other exert their influx.

Check out this photo and video from Brian Carter of Pixel That Photography featuring the event’s organizers and participants, notably interviews with KABC7 news anchor David Ono, MSNBC morning anchor Richard Lui, restauranteur and blogger Nguyen Tran and KTTV Fox 11 weekend anchor Susan Hirasuna.

I’d like to give a well-deserved shout-out to these amazing people who made the V3 Digital Media Conference successful:

Gil Asakawa, director of programming, V3con
Greg Kimura, CEO, Japanese American National Museum
Ken Muche, Verizon Wireless Public Relations
Lac Su, founder of Banana Conference 1 & 2
Jocelyn “Joz” Wang, conference creator and executive director

Did you participate in the groundbreaking event? Did you know that the event inspired David Ono to utilize Twitter for the first time when he covered the Republican National Convention? How do you think social media and digital media will shape America?
